Kommetjie, meaning "small basin" in Afrikaans, has a history that dates back centuries. Originally inhabited by the indigenous Khoi-San people, the area later became a stopover point for Dutch explorers and sailors who sought refuge along the Cape coast. Over time, Kommetjie transformed into a quaint fishing village, where local fishermen would venture out into the abundant waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Soak in the legacy of this enchanting village as you create your own cherished memories, all while enjoying the sun, sea, and the timeless charm that makes Kommetjie truly special.

We recommend to stay at least three nights in order to catch the vibes of this beautiful and calm village. If you like nature and silence, then Kommetjie is your spot. You will enjoy long walks at the beach and enjoy the great view towards Hout Bay. Watch the surfers catching one wave after another. Doesn't matter if  8years young or 80years old. all are the same. It is lovely to see the sparkle in the exes of the kids when running into the water looking forward to catch the next wave. Kommetjie is one of the best spots around Cape Town for surfing.

At the beach you will see dogs strowling around, brids having a bath in the little pools on the beach, surfers catching some waves. There is also a food truck called "AndRoc's Mobile Kitchen" serving some delicious snacks and cold beer each saturday and sunday.

is a small B&B just 100m to the beach. From the room you can see and hear the ocean. Each morning you will get

served some proper breakfast, with fresh eggs if you like. The lady of the house is very charming and takes care of all

        your needs.
